What is Amortisation schedule?
The instalment-by-instalment breakdown of a loan, showing how each payment splits between interest and principal and what balance remains.
It is the document that answers "how much do I still owe" and "how much of this have I actually paid off", which the monthly figure alone cannot.
Not to be confused with Payment schedule
A payment schedule lists when payments are due. An amortisation schedule also decomposes each one, which is the part that matters for prepayment and tax decisions.
