Investment

Every projection here is an estimate built on an assumed rate, and the assumption matters more than the arithmetic. Each tool shows its assumption set explicitly and a sensitivity range rather than a single confident number, because a single confident number about the future is the one thing nobody can honestly give you.

Retirement Corpus CalculatorThe retirement corpus that supports inflation-linked withdrawals for a stated number of years, and the monthly saving that builds it. The corpus is sized on the real return, not the nominal one.Retirement Withdrawal CalculatorHow long a retirement corpus lasts when withdrawals rise with inflation each year. Holding withdrawals flat is what makes most retirement calculators too optimistic.FIRE CalculatorThe portfolio that supports your expenses indefinitely, and how long it takes to build. The savings rate matters far more than the return, which is the finding that makes the whole idea work.Coast FIRE CalculatorThe amount that, left alone, grows into a full retirement corpus by itself. Reaching it means you can stop saving for retirement entirely and still retire on time, which is a milestone worth knowing about.Safe Withdrawal Rate CalculatorWhat a withdrawal rate produces in cash, whether the portfolio survives the period, and the rate that would exactly exhaust it. Above the real return, capital is being consumed.401(k) CalculatorA 401(k) projected to retirement with the employer match modelled properly. Contributing below the match threshold declines free money, which no investment return can make up for.401(k) Employer Match CalculatorEmployer match earned against the maximum available. A dollar-for-dollar match is a hundred percent instant return, which is more than any investment reliably provides.Roth vs Traditional 401(k) CalculatorRoth against traditional 401(k) contributions. At the same tax rate they are mathematically identical, so the entire question is whether your rate will be higher or lower in retirement.IRA CalculatorIRA growth with the Roth against traditional comparison. If your tax rate is the same now and in retirement the two are mathematically identical, so the choice is entirely a bet on which rate is higher.Roth IRA Conversion CalculatorRoth conversion tax and whether it pays. Converting only up to the top of your current bracket is the standard technique, because the spill into the next bracket is taxed at a higher rate for no extra benefit.Backdoor Roth CalculatorBackdoor Roth with the pro rata rule applied. The strategy is only tax free when you hold no other pre-tax IRA money, and the rule aggregates every traditional, SEP and SIMPLE IRA you own.RMD CalculatorThe required minimum distribution from a retirement account: last year's closing balance divided by a life expectancy factor. The factor comes from the IRS table, which was rewritten in 2022, so it is an input rather than a number buried in code.Social Security Benefit CalculatorA Social Security benefit estimate from average indexed earnings, showing the progressive bend points and the adjustment for claiming early or late. The formula deliberately replaces far more of a low earner's income than a high earner's.Social Security Claim Age Break-EvenThe ages at which delaying Social Security overtakes claiming early, for each pair of claiming ages. It is a longevity bet, and the break-even ages are what you are betting against.Pension Lump Sum vs Annuity CalculatorA pension lump sum against the annuity offered instead, compared on present value and on how long you would need to live for the annuity to win. The discount rate you assume decides the answer.Annuity Payout CalculatorAnnuity payouts against self-managed drawdown. An annuity buys certainty at the cost of return, and the return-of-purchase-price option costs about a percentage point of rate.HSA Contribution & Growth CalculatorHSA growth with the triple tax advantage. Contributions are deductible, growth is untaxed and qualified withdrawals are untaxed, which no other US account offers at all three stages.

Portfolio

Portfolio Rebalancing CalculatorThe trades that return a portfolio to its target weights, with a band so small drifts are left alone and an option to rebalance with new money instead of selling. Selling to rebalance realises gains, which is a cost the drift often does not justify.Asset Allocation by Age CalculatorA starting allocation from age, horizon and how you behave in a fall. The age rules are a heuristic and nothing more, so the page shows what the rule gave before the adjustment and what moved it.Weighted Portfolio Return CalculatorThe weighted return of a portfolio, and how much of it each holding actually produced. Averaging the returns of the holdings equally is the common mistake and it flatters small winners badly.Sharpe Ratio CalculatorReturn per unit of risk, from a return series or from summary figures. The Sharpe ratio treats a good month and a bad month as equally risky, which is its central limitation and the reason the Sortino ratio exists.Sortino Ratio CalculatorThe Sharpe ratio with only downside volatility in the denominator. Where a strategy has occasional large gains the two ratios diverge sharply, and that gap is the point of the measure.Beta and Alpha CalculatorBeta and Jensen alpha from a return history, with the R squared that says whether the beta means anything. A beta fitted against a benchmark the asset barely tracks is a number without content, and the fit statistic is the only way to see that.Return Volatility CalculatorVolatility and Sharpe ratio from a series of returns. Volatility scales with the square root of time, so monthly volatility annualises by multiplying by the root of twelve rather than by twelve.Asset Correlation CalculatorCorrelation between two return series and what it does to a portfolio. Any correlation below one reduces portfolio volatility below the weighted average, which is the entire mathematical case for diversification.
