Calculations happen in your browser. The inputs you type are not sent to a server, because there is no server: this site is static files on a CDN, and the arithmetic runs on your own device.

What is stored on your device

  • Your region choice, in a cookie, so you are not asked again. It contains a two-letter country code and nothing else.
  • Your theme preference, in local storage.
  • Whether you have dismissed the region suggestion banner, for the current session only.
  • Your recent calculations, in local storage, so a calculator can offer to pick up where you left off. Each entry holds the calculator, the inputs and the headline result. Salaries, incomes, equity grants and health measurements are excluded, exactly as they are from a shareable link, because a browser is often a shared device. Where a field is excluded the answer computed from it is excluded too, since the answer is usually the more revealing of the two. The list is capped, it never leaves your device, and you can clear it from the home page at any time.

Clearing your browser data clears all of it. There is no account and nothing to delete on our side, because none of it was ever sent to us.

Shareable links

Copying a result link puts your inputs in the URL so the recipient sees the same calculation. Salaries, incomes, equity grants and health measurements are deliberately excluded from that link, so a link you paste into a chat window carries the calculation without carrying what you earn or what you weigh. No input is ever logged.

Analytics and advertising

Google Analytics loads on every page, and it loads switched off. Consent Mode is set to denied for every storage type before the tag is fetched, so until you accept it writes no cookies, reads no identifier and cannot recognise you on a later visit. What reaches Google in that state is an anonymous count of the page, with no way back to you. If you decline it stays that way for the whole visit. Declining is one click, the same size as accepting, and it is remembered so you are not asked again on the next page.

If you accept, we record which calculator was used, whether a calculation finished, what was searched for, and which result was clicked. We do not record what you type into a calculator. Those numbers never leave your browser, and the events carry the name of the tool rather than anything you put into it. Search terms are recorded, because a search that finds nothing is how we learn which calculator to build next.

Where advertising is enabled it is loaded from third parties whose own policies apply; ad placements can be turned off entirely without a deploy, and the configuration fails closed. An unreachable config means no ads, never all ads.
