What is Statistical power?
The probability that a test finds a real effect of a given size, conventionally set at 80%.
Not to be confused with Significance level
Significance controls false positives. Calling a difference that is not there. Power controls false negatives. Missing one that is. A test can be significant and underpowered at the same time.
