What is Nominal mix?
A concrete mix specified by volume ratio (M20 as 1 : 1.5 : 3) rather than designed for a target strength.
Not to be confused with Design mix
A design mix is proportioned in a laboratory for a specified strength and workability. Nominal mixes are for small works only; using one where a design mix is required is a structural decision, not a convenience.
